Education and work experience: I graduated from upper secondary school (industrial program) in 1998. After my graduation I worked in an engineering workshop for 6 month. In 1999 I did my military service as a seaman in Karlskrona. Since I was very lucky getting a post that meant five days on and five days off I complemented this time by working as a carpenter. In the beginning of 2000 I moved to Oslo, Norway, where I still live. In Oslo I started off working I,5 years as a concrete driller and then six month as a carpenter. Since April 2002 I have been working as an assisting foreman in a welder shop called Varia. For a while I’ve also been working extra in a nursing home. A “little” bit different from my other jobs:-) My dream in the future is to be working as an engineer on a trade ship.

Travel experience: I went on my first backpack trip in November 1998. Me and my friend, Tobbe, travelled trough Indonesia, Australia, New Zeeland, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. In the beginning of the trip we mostly travelled by buses and trains, but in New Zeeland we bough a half rotten Chrysler Hillman Hunter. Our friend Hillman was not only a good means of transportation he was also the greatest girl magnet. It didn’t take long before there were four of us travelling in the car. Me, Tobbe and two girls from Gävle, Helena and Malle.
In August 2002 I went on my next big journey. This time I travelled alone trough Canada and USA. When I came to USA I bought a Kawasaki KLR 650. During the three month I travelled, I drove around 1500 Swedish miles. Starting in Seattle and all the way to New York with highlights such as San Francisco, LA, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Four Corners Area, Santa Fe, Dallas, Austin, New Orleans and Miami.
In addition to this I’ve also done some travelling in Europe.

Interests: Motorbikes have always been one of my biggest interests. I started to drive motorbikes already in the age of seven. Basically it’s the speed and the freedom that really appeal to me. I’m also very fascinated by boats. Hopefully I will be the happy owner to a 65 foot yacht in a couple of years.
When I have finished work I like to hang out with my friends, drinking coffee or playing a game of pool. I also enjoy just relaxing in front of the TV watching e. g. an episode of M*A*S*H.
When I was younger I spent a lot of time on my wakeboard. I also played a lot of football and bandy. These days I rather go snowboarding or running. If I were living in a warmer country, I would defiantly do some more diving.

Helena reveals the truth about Daniel: It’s really easy to figure out that motorbikes are one of Daniels biggest interests. Sometimes it seems like Daniel and his beloved Africa Twin are made in the same factory. For starters they let out the same amount of pollution. The difference is that the pollution from Daniel doesn’t smell like petrol but more like fart. Further on I can reveal that Daniel is pretty afraid of conflicts. Sometimes when I’m angry with him it feels like I’m talking to a motorbike. I don’t get many answers to my questions or statements. If I’m lucky he might chug a bit. Last but not least Daniel is just as romantic as motorbike. Have you ever heard of a romantic motorbike? No, didn’t think so:-)
Of course there are more good things than bad things about Daniel. First of all he’s an outgoing, good-looking, nice, charming and happy guy that’s really down to earth. When you get to know him you also realize that he’s a very honest, determined and uncomplicated person with a personality filled with calm, strength and confidence. I also like his interests. He’s definitely not a boring bloke who’s afraid to try things out.
